Robbers snatch Dealer’s Lumber Yard payroll

The police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at about 07:50 hrs on Saturday at Dealer’s Lumber Yard, Lombard Street, Georgetown, during which checker Mohan Misir was attacked and robbed by two men armed with a handgun and an ice-pick.

Investigations revealed that Misir was entering the compound with a haversack containing $700,000 to pay wages, when he was held up by the two armed men who took away the cash and escaped.
