Guyanese robbed An overseas-based Guyanese and his relative were relieved of both US and local currency by four armed men on Sunday.
Paul Bishun, 52, and 30-year-old Joshua Kistuma who gave their address as Vryman's Erven, Canje, Berbice were sitting under a house around 21:00hrs when the bandits, who were armed with a gun and an axe, entered from the back.
The men stuck up the surprised victims and relieved them of $20,000, US$100 and jewellery. While escaping, the bandits discharged a round, but according to a police press release, ranks who responded were hindered in their pursuit of the men by crossbars that are erected across the road.
