A Corentyne resident was on Saturday relieved of a quantity of cash, jewellery and a video camera by three armed men.

Mahesh Goolchan, 39, had just returned home according to reports when the suspects armed with two guns and a knife approached him and forced their way into his home. They proceeded to assault his wife Savitree Goolchan, 43, with their weapons and took $150,000, US$450, jewellery and a camera before escaping.

Savitree was treated for her injuries at the Port Mourant Hospital and sent away. Police investigations are underway.
