Three charged with attempted murder of cambio dealer
THREE young men charged following the attempted murder of a cambio dealer in Berbice last Saturday appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Cecil Sullivan in Georgetown yesterday.

Sixteen-year-old Maurizio Quailo and Eulex Jeffrey (no addresses given) faced a joint charge that they wounded Mohamed Yusuf with intent to kill him at Number 79, Corriverton, Corentyne.


The third man, Romel Howard and Quailo are jointly accused of being in possession of a .38 revolver, four live matching bullets and two spent shells when they were not the holders of licences.

Quailo and Jeffrey allegedly attacked the victim while he was going to an outdoor latrine in his yard and shot him twice in the region of his head and chest, Police said.

After the two were arrested, cops acting on information received went to the place where Quailo and Howard live and found the gun and ammunition behind the house.

All those charge were remanded to prison until March 24 when they will make their next appearance at Springlands Court, Corentyne.
