Gunmen have struck again on the West Coast Demerara, this time
holding up Tiwari's Drug Store in Uitvlugt.

Proprietor Tularam Tiwari told Stabroek News yesterday
that during the robbery on Thursday evening the gunmen had twice
tried to shoot him but both times the guns had jammed.
He said the first time was when they had ransacked an inner
office of the drug store finding nothing, and when they were about
to leave as he lay on the ground.
He said he has knowledge of guns and was able to identify the
weapons used by the gunmen as one pump action shot
gun, a colt 45
and a .32
taurus.
He said he and his family were robbed of their jewellery, over
$300,000 in phone cards, US currency, his personal documents,
winning lottery tickets that he had already paid out on and money
that Laparkan had given him as an agent for money transfer
transactions. He said in all he was robbed of about $1.6M.
